ISRAEL The Collection Limited Edition: In this land older than the bible itself where history was first recorded with the written word, there is a celebration of rebirth about to take place. It is but one in a country’s history that there is an observance in commemoration of its 60th anniversary. There is but one country that was founded as the homeland for one people who share a sole common bond, Israel, the true mythical holy land of the bible was lost to conquers in 200 A.D., it was not until 1,748 years later that its native people became strong enough to reclaim their homeland and declare their independence. On May 14th 1948, the nation of Israel was proclaimed. Due to the great success of the Israel50 collection introduced ten years ago to celebrate Israel’s Jubilee, Delta is now creating the Israel60 collection to celebrate this important celebration, Israel’s 60th anniversary. Israel 1K offers 1948 fountain pens (1K) with trimmings in sterling silver with aged finish. The 1K feature a converter or cartridge (threaded) filling system .Technical characteristics : The collection is hand turned from solid bars of blue and black resin. All pens feature in the top of the cap a medal featuring the Samech, the fifteen letter of Hebrew alphabet, which represents the number 60. The central ring in solid sterling silver 925‰(18 kt solid gold in celebration) is engraved with the Menorah, official symbol of the state of Israel. The menorah is a seven-branched candelabrum lit by olive oil in the temple of Jerusalem together with two branches of olive tree synonym of peace and friendship between peoples. A special thread is featured which allows the lateral lever to be perfectly aligned with clip when cap is screwed in place if starting aligned. Clip and Nib: The clip is made of solid sterling silver 925‰ (18 kt solid gold in celebration) and reproduces the Yad. A Yad, literally "hand”, is a Jewish ritual pointer, used to point to the text during the Torah reading. It is intended to prevent anyone from touching the parchment, which is considered sacred. Several small diamonds cover completely the 2 spheres that form the clip. The 18-karat solid gold nib is specially designed, customized and it is personalized. Is available in Fine grade. It is engraved with the star of David. It now offers the famous Delta's side lever loading system considered the most traditional ink loading system, conceived in 1908 and till dear to pen collectors and lovers, giving the fountain pen a distinctive charm.Serial number : 210.
